Goals and Accomplishments of the 2006/2007 Austin Community of ASID Board:
The 2006/2007 board was very busy. Design Excellence was refreshed and given a glamorous new face. Money was saved by streamlining operations and record amounts of sponsorship dollars were raised.
Goals were set that were unique to Austin while complementing and supporting the statewide goals set by the Texas ASID board. Important action items were implemented that helped realize these goals.
Goal #1: Increase membership attendance to monthly meetings.
Interesting speakers and venues were provided at the meetings. Several CEU's were provided with more planned, utilizing the extra money raised by Design Excellence – this resulted in an increased per average meeting attendance.
Goal #2: Increase membership participation in Design Excellence.
One free competition entry was offered at each general meeting and one entire meeting was devoted to the topic of understanding the process and strategy of successfully entering and completing the competition – this resulted in a record number of entries purchased.
Goal #3: Increase Industry Partner
participation.
Industry Partners were invited to all monthly meetings and other functions. Membership was encouraged to support and use the products offered by the Partners and the Partners were also invited to sponsor Design Excellence - this resulted in the largest amount of Industry Partner sponsorship donations collected to date.
